Analyze Examples of Instructions
For this assignment we have to analyze the the instructions for an application that we did not pick of our Project #1. I decided to to pick the application of Youtube because I am familiar with the application but never been a user for updating videos only watching. I thought it would be a cool application to learn for fun. I used the website https://support.google.com/youtube/?hl=en#topic=4355266 to look up instructions and a helpful tool.

Reader's Expectations: The reader expectations is to be able to watch there favorite Youtubers, any video that interesting them, and be alerted when new videos are posted on the channel when they are subscribed. With the correct instructions they should be able to find the tools they need to subscribe to whatever channel they want with no problem.
Different instructions for different audiences: The instruction provide was clear and straight forward for the simple task of subscribing to a channel. I don't think there needs to be different instructions for different audience because it is general and basic information.
Languages: The language for the instructions was in english because of my google settings, but if you scroll all the way to the bottom there a bottom where you can change the language settings. This is a good tool because anyone has access to this helpful feature.
Will the reader be anxious?: No the read will not be anxious looking at these instructions because it give you 3 simple steps and even has a small picture so you know what you are looking for.
Environment of the reader: Since the application is online we can assume the environment of the reader would be in a setting where they can read the instructions online.
Strengths: The directions are simple and easy to follow.
Weakness: I don't see any weakness with these instructions.

Different instructions for different audiences: There is different set of instructions for different devices which makes it more helpful for different audiences. The video can be more helpful is someone needs a more visual look on how to do something compare to just reading.
Languages: The instructions were in English but they have the option at the bottom of the page to change the language in which you are most comfortable understanding.
Will the reader be anxious?: A reader could be anxious if they don't understand the simple tools around the internet, computer, or the application. Though the directions are straight forward for must some elders might not understand the simple task.
Environment of the reader: Since the application is online we can assume the environment of the reader would be in a setting where they can read the instructions online.
Strength: They show you how to share the videos on many different devices like the computer, android, and iPhone or iPad. Along with a video instructions and written instructions.
Weakness: The written instruction could be to much for someone if they don't know the simple tools of a computer like copying and pasting.
